TRAIL BICYCLES RACING TEAM
Team Mission & Purpose
The Trail Bicycles Youth Development Racing Team is all about racing and personal growth. We are dedicated to fostering a passion for competitive mountain biking in young riders. Formed in 2010, our focus is on helping athletes develop their technical skills, race strategies, and overall fitness in a supportive and motivating environment.
What The Team Offers
Our team is led by Brett Whitehead, an NCCP and PMBIA certified coach. He trains and races in different biking disciplines including cyclocross, cross country, enduro and road. Brett’s lifelong passion for cycling and coaching inspires the team and helps shape our supportive and competitive environment.. Additionally, our team benefits from the expertise of other valuable coaches, each bringing their unique skills and perspectives to help our riders succeed. We offer structured training sessions, race-specific coaching, and opportunities to compete in races both on the island and province wide. Whether on the podium or pushing personal limits, we encourage every rider to strive for their best.
Who We Are For
The team is ideal for boys and girls aged 12 to 18 who are excited about mountain biking, eager to improve their skills, and motivated to challenge themselves in races. We foster a positive, supportive environment where teammates encourage one another and enjoy training and racing together. Beyond personal growth, our riders take pride in representing the local community at races, showcasing both their skills and sportsmanship on and off the trails.
A Big Thanks To Our Sponsors
Our team wouldn’t be where it is without the generous support of our sponsors, including those who have been with us from the very beginning. A special thanks to Eatmore Sprouts and Wedler Engineering for their support since day one. We’re also incredibly grateful to Rob Nygren (Royal LePage), Fresh Tracks Physiotherapy, Hornby Bars, and Village Performance for their continued commitment to youth development and grassroots racing in the Comox Valley.
